8/05/08 Day 1 : Our leaders cannot sleep on this one for our people are sleepless.

8/06/08 Day 2 : Ignorance, neglect and mismanagement are the reasons why our people continue to suffer in these rolling blackouts. Only 1 Engine is operating at our Power Plant 1 producing 5 megawatts plus 13.5 at Power Plant 4 = 18.5 total megawatts supplying the entire island and they expect us to hold on for 30 – 45 days until Aggreko power reserves arrive. Then there was total “darkness.”

8/07/08 Day 3: Water contamination from Msgr. Guerrero Road to Dahon Drive. CUC claimed mechanical malfunction and water insufficiently treated. All lies! If there is no power to turn on pumps, how is CUC going to treat our water system?

8/08/08 Day 4: More power outages! Water in Msgr. Guerrero Road to Dahon Drive still contaminated.

8/09/08 Day 5: More—and longer—power outages, lasting 2-4 hours plus. Water in Msgr. Guerrero Road to Dahon Drive still contaminated.

8/10/08 Day 6: More power outages and more serious problems! Three engines went down last night due to serious mechanical problems and CUC director Tony Muna said engines will hold till next month. Power Plant 1 is now operating with one engine only.

Taotao Tano says now way, we ain’t going to make it. This is why Taotao Tano aggressively demands that the Executive Branch and Legislature source from the Department of Defense and have Aggreko power reserve containers airlifted to the CNMI now for we are in a state of emergency, a real one!

Today’s Tribune reported that contaminated water is corrected. Guess again, we have one engine running, with Power plant 4 assisting with 13.5 megawatts = total 18 megawatts for the entire power grid of the Commonwealth.

People of the Commonwealth can expect more contaminated water, coastal waters, and five-hour power outages in the coming days. It has begun and the Executive Branch and Legislative Branch is ignoring this serious threat to the people of the Commonwealth.

The governor is now endangering the entire people of the Commonwealth. The general well being of the people are at stake in terms of public safety, public health and public services.

Governor, what happened to all the sole-sourced contracting? Thousands and thousands of taxpayers dollars and no repairs. You are concentrating too much on the GAO analysis but we have a critical situation in our hands. Where is your priority? Where is the better times? Where is the 90 percent by June 2008 power generation? Intentionally and deliberately driving our power plants down to oppress a community into privatization is a crime, governor.
