Thank you
Please allow me to say a few words of appreciation to the people of Rota and the warm welcome accorded me during our recent gathering at the Rota Museum also known as Taisacan Beach, on Aug. 9, 2008.
Although the crowd was fair in numbers it encouraged me more to discuss very important issues that all of us in the CNMI would like to see pushed through in Washington come January of 2009. Issues such as how the implementation of federal immigration would affect our economy and our labor situation, environmental issues, transportation issues, the military buildup in the CNMI and many more that we will be debating on as we get closer to election day.
The warm reception that you have given me is indicative of your desire in ensuring that all of these issues that are important to us and the survival of our economy can be assured if you vote and place a fellow Democrat such as myself in a Democrat-controlled Congress and maybe a Democrat White House. In Washington, political affiliation is very important if our voices are to be heard and I know that I can muster the support of longtime friends in Washington, D.C.
Again, on behalf of our chairman, Manny Sablan and my families, I would like to extend our appreciation for the hospitality during our recent gathering in Rota. Special thanks to Matias Taisacan and his family for the use of your beachfront property and also to our Rota Democrat chair Norbert Mundo. Un dang kulu na si yuus maase.
