RGA, SGA hold August tourneys this weekend

Refaluwasch Golf Association and Saipan Golf Association will hold their respective August Ace of the Month Tournaments this weekend.
RGA’s August Ace of the Month will be held today at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort east course. Check in time is 11am with tee time set at 12pm.
Score to beat is the net 68 scored by Nick Sablan during the club’s August qualifier held in conjunction with the 2008 Tournament of Champions last Aug. 2 at the Kagman venue.
RGA tournament coordinator Jess Wabol is also reminding Ace of the Month winners that they need to have played in a minimum of six tournaments (including qualifiers) in order to qualify for the yearend RGA Club Championship.

SGA, meanwhile, will hold its August Ace of the Month Tournament tomorrow, Aug. 17, at the Marianas Country Club in Marpi.
Participants must check in at 8:30am to make the 9:30am tee off time. Slots are available for 24 players and SGA said first players to show up early, will definitely be the first to roll the grounds.
Veteran golfers Mariano Fajardo and Joe Sablan, homerun menace Ned Norita, last year’s annual champion Larry Deleon Guerrero, Carl Hocog, retired judge Edward Manibusan, and former SGA president Nobert Sablan have bragging rights for the first seven months of SGA’s season as they secured the January, February, March, April, May, June, and July Ace titles, respectively.
