DUI checkpoints tomorrow, Sat.

The Department of Safety’s Traffic Section will be conducting DUI checkpoints on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 22-23, 2008.

On Friday, the first setup will be on Chalan Pale Arnold Road in Gualo Rai by the Sherwin-Williams Building. It will begin around 7:30pm and end around 8:45pm.

The second setup will be on Beach Road, Susupe by the Minatchom Atdao. This will start around10pm and end around 11:15pm.

The next day, Aug. 23, the first setup will be on Chalan Pale Arnold Road in Chalan Laulau by the Transamerica Building. It will begin around 7:30pm and end around 8:45pm.

The second setup will be on Beach Road Chalan Laulau by the late Dr. Kaipat’s residence. This will start around10pm and end around 11:15pm.

Each checkpoint conducted will last at least 75 minutes (1 hour, 15 minutes) at each location. This activity is part of the department’s efforts to deter and detect and ensure that all vehicle occupants are protected.

In addition, Traffic officers will be conducting highway criminal interdictions, saturation patrols, aggressive driver interdictions, and laser activities.
