The Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture will open its Annual CNMI Cultural Heritage and Arts Pacifica Exhibit today at the Joeten Motors Building in San Jose.

The exhibit will be open until Sept. 30, 2008.

The CNMI Cultural Heritage Exhibit will feature traditional Carolinian and Chamorro crafts as part of the CNMI-wide Cultural Heritage month celebration in September.

The Arts Pacifica Exhibit will also feature artworks from the Pacific Islands such as Micronesia, Polynesia, and Melanesia.

“Together with CCAC’s newest partner, Joeten Motors, we aim to continue the efforts of promoting, protecting an preserving our unique cultures thru exhibits like such, as well provide an opportunity for public appreciation of the quality and unique arts and cultures of the Chamorro’s and Carolinian’s as well the inclusion of neighboring cultures,” the Arts Council said in a statement.

All interested artists and collectors are encouraged to submit and register their artwork at the Arts Council office located on Capital Hill. Regular exhibit hours are from 8am to 6pm on Mondays through Fridays, and 8am to 12pm on Saturdays at the Joeten Motors Showcase Room on Beach Road, San Jose.
