Three teams got their seasons off to flying starts in the 2008 Fall Miller Lite Four-Person Beach Volleyball League Tuesday night at the Pacific Islands Club sand courts.

Enyophace, Acme Roofing, and MHS Oakies prevailed over their respective rivals to share the early lead with identical 3-0 win-loss records.

It was an easy win for Enyophace, which is anchored by Jessica Uematsu, Kegn Hall, Keoni Ichihara, Jeff Cloud, Clark Boswell, Marley Buchun, Nicole French, and Louise Oakley, as they finished off Kimoichi, 21-17, 21-10, 21-7, in the fourth and final match-up of the evening.

Enyophace now paces the league after winning 63 points and allowing only 34 points for Kimoichi.

The win also boosted Enyophace’s morale going in their next game against fellow opening day winner Acme Roofing, which scored 63 points but stayed in solo second place after giving up 40 points against their opponent.

Acme Roofing won all three sets against Team Two in another lopsided contest, 21-13, 21-8, 21-19. The team, composed of Larry Sharry, Jazz Roscow, Rob Jordan, Luthor Taylor, Gordon Semen, Elizabeth Henke, Jenni Brown, and Dana McFadden, will square off with Enyophace in the battle of early leaders at 8:30pm tonight.

MHS Oakies won the first game of the season at the expense of Champ-on, 21-8, 21-16, 15-7, to keep the third position in the 11-team field league after scoring 57 points, while allowing their rivals the lowest score of only 31 points.

The Oakies, composed of John Nekaifes, Typhoon Saito, Jordan Marciano, Barry Mality, Charnessa Lizama, Mildred Kintol, and Heartim Williams, will face Team Two in their second game tonight at 7:30pm.

Off Twice also won its first game against MHS Peers by taking the first two sets, 21-11 and 21-13, before dropping the third set, 13-15.

Bannered by Lindsey Sosovec, Rex, Alex Hammet, Jay Kang, Amanda Armstrong, Amie McRoberts, Angie Perez, Autumn Beechler, and Youme Sharry, Off Twice occupies solo fourth place with a 2-1 win-loss mark.

The MHS Peers are in fifth with a 1-2 win-loss record and scored 54 points.

Champ-on, Kimoichi and Team No. Two are tied with 0-3. Three teams have yet to make their appearances. They are Karakuchi, MHS Serves up!, and MHS 67 Doh-Fins.

The two other games scheduled today will be between Kimoichi and MHS Peers at 5:30pm, while Karakuchi and MHS 67 Doh-Fins will debut as they square off at 6:30pm.
