The Commonwealth Utilities Corp.’s Power Division has scheduled a three-hour emergency power outage today, Sept. 30, to repair a power pole.

“The purpose of the outage is to ensure safety for the line crew and the public as they replace a damaged power pole that was struck and destroyed by a vehicle early Saturday morning,” said CUC in a statement.

The outage is scheduled to start at 3pm and is expected to last through 6pm. The feeder affected is Kiya 2, which covers the areas of As Lito, portions of Fina Sisu, Koblerville, As Gonno, San Antonio, Afetnas, Chalan Piao and portions of Chalan Kanoa.

“The CUC apologizes for any inconvenience this emergency outage schedule has imposed on the community and will work diligently to minimize the interruption,” said the utility agency. (CUC)
