Suspended campaign

I regret to inform the general public that I am postponing my campaign schedule for this Saturday, Oct. 18, 2009, here on Saipan, until such time that the Senate clears the matter involving Department of Public Lands and my brother Ray.

I strongly feel that my brother may have not done anything wrong but the mere fact that these allegations are being discussed is troublesome for me since I have been a strong advocate of clean and honest government.

I want the Senate Committee chaired by Sen. Jude Hofschneider to advise me if indeed these allegations have been cleared by Department of Public Lands or not. Once we clear these issues I can continue on with our plan to hold a campaign on Saipan so that our voters may have the opportunity to learn of our good plans for the Commonwealth before Election Day.

Again, I apologize to my supporters and the general public for this setback and I continue to seek your support and prayers.
