Defending champion Department of Community and Cultural Affairs gained its second straight win after shutting out Procurement & Supply, 12-0, in the Budweiser 2008 Inter-Government/Business Softball League Friday night at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Basa Pangelinan Ballfield.
The victory put DCCA in the lead with its 2-0 record, sharing the top spot in the men’s division with Freedom Air, Legislature, Joeten Motors, Beach Boys, Commonwealth Ports Authority, and Law & Order.
DCCA, which is seeking its third championship in a row this season, finished off P&S after only four and a half innings.

After six and a half innings, DCCA led, 13-7, and Finance must score at least six runs to extend the game. But Finance drew only one run apiece from Lenice Kapileo and Liz Lebria.
With the win, DCCA, which topped CUC in last season’s finals, is now in the lead in the women’s division.
Finance dropped to a 1-1 record for third place. NMC is in second place with a 1-0 record, while CHC and CUC are tied with identical 1-1 marks.
