I join you in congratulating all the recipients of the most recent Governor’s Awards for the Humanities. However, it is with deep sadness that none of the other nominees were honored by acknowledging their nominations. The public deserves to be informed of all the others who have been nominated in each category.

By acknowledging nominees, it will also indicate who is really deserving of being awarded and that questions of impartiality can be avoided—in all fairness, being nominated is an honor in itself.
