The Operation Home Front Support is about ready to send packages for CNMI soldiers in the U.S. Armed Force who are deployed around the world.

The packages include canned food, drinks, snacks, as well as letters to the individual men and women.

Education specialist Geri Lynn Willis and Fred Camacho of the Troops-To-Teachers Program received yesterday back issues of Saipan Tribune to be included in the package.

The project was launched two months ago.

Willis said they expect to compete the packaging at the end of this month and these would be brought to the post office by that time.

The post office will then be sending them to their destinations in the first week of December in time for Christmas Day.

“We are trying to reach everyone of them [troops],” Willis said.

For this special project, those who know the address of a military man or woman may contact Willis or Camacho at troops2teachers@hotmail.com or 237-3287.

Camacho said they had been able to collect an abundant amount of donations from individuals and companies.

They are targeting around 250-300 care packages.

The Operation Home Front Support started the drive to send care packages to all CNMI military men and women.

Any military member who is off-island is qualified to get a care package.

“We want to make sure that all of them get something,” Camacho said.

Program sites have been put up around the islands for the past two months to collect donations from the community.
