The Saipan Swim Club will be holding the 16th Annual All School Swimming Championships today with 13 events lined up at the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool in Marpi.

The swim meet will have competitions in elementary (9-and-under and 12-and-under age group), junior high school (14-and-under), and high school divisions (18-and-under).

The annual tournament will start at 7am with the 4x50m freestyle relay for three divisions. The 200m freestyle swim will follow and will also have competitions in three divisions.

The 50m butterfly will feature only swimmers in the elementary school division, while the 100m butterfly is only for high school and junior high participants.

The 100m and 50m freestyle swims are open to all divisions, while the 50m breaststroke event is for elementary school swimmers only. Junior high and high school swimmers will get their turn in the 100m breaststroke.

The 50m backstroke will be for elementary school swimmers only, while the 100m backstroke will have competitors in the high school and junior high school divisions.

The three remaining events—200m individual medley, 400m freestyle and 4x50m mixed medley relay—are open to three divisions.

Each swimmer is allowed to compete in only four individual events and one relay. Coaches must indicate two of those events as exhibition. Each school may field as many swimmers in any individual event, but only the two fastest swimmers per schools will get points.

Participating schools are asked to submit entries today to Lisa Kimball. Entries may also be emailed to coach@saipanswimclub.com.

The deadline to submit entries is at 6pm today.

For more information, contact Kimball at 322-7130.

Whispering Palms is this year’s defending champion in the elementary division, collecting 225 points from last season’s meet. Saipan Community School was second with 150 points, downing third placer Saipan International School by only a point.

The SIS Geckos won the junior and high school divisions, finishing ahead of Marianas High School, Ladera International School, Grace Christian Academy, and SCS.
