Tour companies give NMC $8K

Tasi Tours and R & C gave Northern Marianas College $8,000 in education tax credit.

Yesterday, officials from both tour companies presented the check to NMC president Carmen Fernandez.

Kazusuke Fukuju, president of Tasi Tours, said that, with the difficult economic times, it’s important to help other entities.

Hideki Sakai, general manager for R&C Tours, said the money could go toward the college’s effort to reach full accreditation.

He also hopes it will help with the company’s travel agent’s exchange program, he said.

Many businesses within the CNMI choose to give education tax credits to local schools.
