Timely publication

Two of my letters to the editor were written and submitted weeks, if not months previously, in response to letters written by others. Since the lapse in time has occurred people may forget what letter I am writing in reference to. Time is of the essence. The lapse of time changes the tone, perceived intent and the general view people may hold of writers. A newspaper and/or its editorial team ought to understand this. I trust that future letters are published timely or they will ask writers if they still want letters that are withheld to be published at all.
