A helper…not a slave

This is in reference to the letter of Alex Rangamar. You know, I admit that there are so many contract workers on Saipan that still wants to stay even though they were treated badly. It really hurts me when there are still some people like you who are so selfish to say “take it or leave it.” Sir, you are talking to people (who have feelings like you) and not to animals. There are some contract workers who are so desperate to keep their jobs but they don’t have a choice but to stay in Saipan because their life would be more difficult if they go home to their respective homeland. I do hope you understand them, how poor these people are. This is their only way to voice out that they are not slaves but helpers. These are two different things. It seems that some employers are treating these contract workers as their “own”. Have pity on them. I think it is better to give them gratitude for giving a lot to Saipan. We owe them at least a thank you.
