Hardt Eye’s Mahinay, Zapata get certified
Hardt Eye Clinic announced that Eric Mahinay and Amor Zapata passed the National Opticianry Competency Examination and are now certified opticians. They are the first U.S. certified opticians ever in the CNMI.
Mahinay, who has college degrees in engineering and theology, has been a part of the Hardt Eye Clinic family since 2004.
“Assisting patients in choosing the right frames and lenses to match their lifestyle is real important part for me,” said Mahinay.
He also viewed his accomplishment as motivation to “learn more and serve better.”
Dr. Don Hardt said he is proud of his staff’s recent accomplishment.
“We are so proud of Eric and Amor, first for the fine care they provide, and second for this major achievement,” he said.
Zapata, also an LPN, has been with Hardt Eye Clinic since June of 2007. He said he still remembers the countless hours of studying and preparation for his examination, reflecting that he is proud that he received such designation.
“I’m happy that I can help others. Seeing our patients smile is an indescribable feeling,” he said.
Hardt Eye Clinic first opened its doors in 2004 and remains committed to providing the highest standards of care for their patients. The certification by the ABOC of Zapata and Mahinay supports the overall mission of Hardt Eye Clinic to exceed patient expectations in all areas of service.
