Tudela to attend 77th US Conference of Mayors
Mayor Juan B. Tudela is set to attend the 77th Winter Meeting of the United States Conference of Mayors from Jan.17 to 19 at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington D.C.
Some of the major issues in the annual conference involve urban planning and polices, criminal and social justice, jobs, education, and the workforce.
Participants will also discuss international affairs, tourism, arts, parks, entertainment and sports.
The various conference committees representing a wide range of issues will report their work in the past year right on the first day of sessions.
Some of these committees include community development and housing, children’s health and human services, environment. and transportation and communications.
Also during the first day, new mayors and first time attendees of the meeting would be introduced to the session.
After a plenary breakfast for the mayors and business leaders on the second day of the meeting, awards will be presented for the USCM Excellence in Public and Private Partnership.
Workshops will also be held as well as separate meetings for various task forces and closed-door meeting for the USCM Executive Committee members and another closed-door meeting for the Republican mayors and local officials.
