Afraid to correct govt’s mistakes
My thoughts on our land dispute with the government: The government would not admit making a mistake. Rather, it would fight to the end to protect its integrity and keep immune its officials who blatantly ignored our pleas and official claim to the questioned property.
For over 50 years no government officials would do the right thing to bring this matter to a closure. Each one of the involved officials who we sought assistance from would rather procrastinate on resolving the issue or pass the buck to other government agency, department, or government official just to get out of the spotlight or hoping we will stop bothering them. No government official seemed interested in resolving our land dispute.
Perhaps none of the government officials likes us because either we are complaining against the government or we are of the minority indigenous race, i.e., Carolinian, so we are not important to them. I might be wrong with my assumption, but I believe the officials are mostly incompetent in their capacity to do the right thing and are afraid to jeopardize their government positions in that they are reluctant to do anything drastic that would hurt the government and put them in a tight position with their superiors. Basically, they are unable to morally correct the government’s mistakes and afraid to go against the government.
I am writing to illustrate how our government can go to extremes to hide the obvious carelessness and mismanagement of some of the government officials involved in our land dispute with the government. This is something I would like to share with the public in hopes that maybe something can be learned from this problem so we can prevent this malady from happening again.
