The swim lessons offered by Tsunami Swimming Center Saipan and American Red Cross-NMI Chapter will return next month with another five Saturday sessions.

But this time, the swim lessons will take place at the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool in Marpi. The previous Tsunami Saipan-ARC swim lessons were held at the pools of Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan.

The first sessions of the swim lesson is set for Feb. 14. The next four will be held on Feb. 21, Feb. 28, March 14, and March 21.

Coaches and members of Tsunami Saipan team will be conducting the five sessions of swim lessons, while water safety instructors and lifesaver-certified swimmers from American Red Cross will join Tsunami Saipan in providing valuable lessons to participants.

Registration will be held on Feb. 14 from 9:30am to 10am. Sessions will run from 10am to 11am.

Registration fee is $30 per participant. For families, the second and succeeding members will pay only $25 each.

Tsunami Saipan and ARC held the last swim lessons of 2008 in October with 55 enrollees finishing the sessions and getting certifications from the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter.

The participants took lessons from Bobby and Tami Winkfield, Stan Good, Mike Villagomez, Rezne Wong, Shin, Hiro, and Kensuke Kimura, Cooper Graf, Kai Staal, Val Welch, Amanda Johnson, Karen Buettner, Marystar Welch, Annie Camacho, Mina Minami, Thea Minor, Kiana Villagomez, and Ashley and Salofi Welch, and from eight water safety instructors and four lifesaver-certified swimmers from ARC.

Besides teaching kids and adults the basic of swimming, Tsunami Saipan is holding swim lessons to bring their swimmers closer to the community, especially to aspiring kid swimmers

The club is also using the swim lessons to raise funds for purchase of equipment, for sending Tsunami Saipan swimmers to off-island competitions, and for monthly fees at the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool.
