Man gets 11-day jail term for conspiracy to rob poker room
The Superior Court has handed an 11-day jail term on one of four men who conspired to stage an armed robbery at a poker arcade in San Antonio.
Associate Judge Ramona V. Manglona sentenced the 20-year-old Clifford Jack Palacios Masga to 30 days in jail, all suspended except 11 days, for conspiracy to commit robbery.
Manglona gave Masga credit for the 11 days he already served in prison.
The judge placed the defendant on probation for six months and required him to pay a $500 fine, $100 court assessment fee, and a $60 annual probation fee.
Masga was ordered to pay his share of the restitution to Golden Poker in the amount of $1,011.25.
Manglona required the defendant to write a letter of apology to Golden Poker and perform 100 hours of community work service.
The judge directed Masga to complete a General Education Development program during the term of his probation.
Masga, Anthony Campos, Michael Jordan Palacios, and Patrick C. Ito were arrested in April 2007 for reportedly conspiring to rob Golden Poker Game Room on April 12 that year.
Masga signed a plea agreement with the government. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery.
Police said three masked men, armed with a crowbar, pipe, and hammer, robbed the Golden Poker of $4,045 cash. The robbery happened in the wake of several poker robberies on Saipan.
