The Men’s Project: Stepping up to the plate
Head Start’s Fatherhood and Male Involvement Committee is inviting all parents, staff and community partners to participate in its activities during the month of February, which has been proclaimed as the “Fatherhood and Male Involvement Month.”
The proclamation signing was held Jan. 29, at the Tanapag Head Start and was signed by Lt. Gov. Timothy Villagomez.
Throughout the month of February, fathers and other males involved in the lives of Head Start children are welcome to take part in classroom activities by being a volunteer, observer, or celebrity reader!
On Feb. 13, Head Start will host A Valentine Walk at 5pm along the Beach Road pathway from the Saipan Fishing Base to the National Office Supply and back. Registration begins at 4pm.
This will be followed by a beach cleanup activity called “Families for the Environment” on Feb. 21, 2009, from 9am to 11am at Micro Beach.
Feb. 26 is “Man, It’s Your Turn To Read!” during which fathers and other males are invited to read to their children. This activity will be from 6pm to 7pm at every Head Start classroom. (PR)
