SLLB moves opening of 2009 season to Feb. 15
The start of the 2009 season of the Saipan Little League Baseball has been moved from Feb. 14 to Feb. 15.
SLLB president Mike Borja said they decided to change the opening date to give way to the Valentine’s Day celebration.
“Instead on Saturday, we will kick off the league on Sunday and games will continue on Monday, which is a holiday,” Borja said.
Feb. 16 is President’s Day.
Borja added government officials had already confirmed attendance to the opening ceremony at 9am at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Ballfield.
“The governor, House Speaker, Senate President, Saipan mayor, and CNMI District Administrator James Ada are attending the opening day,” Borja said.
