Live fire training, laser ranging, and designating at FDM

The Emergency Management Office, in conjunction with U.S. Naval Forces Marianas Guam, would like to inform the public that the U.S. military would be conducting live fire training, laser ranging, and designating on the island of Farallon de Mendenilla in the following dates and times:

-Feb. 16 -18 and 20, 2009 from 10am to 7pm—Live fire releases.

-Feb. 19, from 11am to 5pm—Laser ranging and designating.

The general location of this activity will be on the island of Farallon De Mendenilla Training Area (R7201) on a ten (10) nautical mile radius on all quadrants.

Due to the danger imposed by this activity, EMO is strongly advising the public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators—to stay away from this area during the time and dates indicated.
