Capt. Josephine Blas, public affairs director for the Guam-CNMI Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve announced yesterday that a “Briefing with the Boss” will be conducted today, Feb. 27, 2009, beginning 8:30am at the Pacific Islands Club’s Charley’s Cabaret on Saipan, with public and private employers scheduled to attend.

“This is the right thing to do and the right time to do it. Many of our employers on Guam and in the CNMI are uncertain and concerned over their responsibilities to their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. This informative briefing will provide employers answers to ensure compliance with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, and suggestions on how best to manage their employees who serve their country in the National Guard and Reserve”, said Blas.

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. Contact Capt. Josephine Blas at 671-735-0456 or 671-483-0324 or Rose Igitol in the local ESGR Guam-CNMI Office at 670-288-5426 for more information on ESGR Employer Outreach Programs and volunteer opportunities.
