Centerfielder Jeremy Lizama recorded two homeruns to help Ol’Aces exact a 14-4 drubbing of Tanapag Falcons in the Major Division of the 2009 Saipan Little League last Saturday at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Pangelinan Baseball Field.

Lizama went 3-for-3 with three runs and five RBIs to lead Ol’Aces in the mercy run-shortened game against the Falcons.

His first hit was a three-run homer that sent Austin Piteg and Virgil Secharmidal home. He scored a runner anew in the third and hit another homer in the fourth.

Piteg also made three hits, Secharmidal, Terson Eina, and Jessie Brel had two apiece, while Keola Camacho and Virolanson Secharmidal added one each.

Ol’Aces tied the Jets in second place with a 4-1 win-loss mark.

Another Lizama came through with a splendid performance as Jose Lizama Jr. of the Jets made up for a listless day on the mound by sparkling on offense

The Jets charged back late in the game to defeat the Dragons, 7-4, on Saturday in the Major Division that made up for their loss to the Red Sox in their previous assignment on March 8.

They took a 4-0 lead in the top of the first on runs by Devyn Flores, Jhace Palacios, Jose Lizama Jr., and Austin Hocog.

After that, it looked like a walk in the park for the Jets until the bottom of the sixth when the Dragons tied the count on runs by Nathan Camacho, Jerald Cabrera, Alden Ngeskebei, and Jonathan Cabrera.

The rally came after Lizama relieved Palacios from pitching duties in the fifth.

Palacios issued eight strikeouts and walked two runners, while Lizama had three strikeouts, gave up three hits, three base on balls, and four runs.

But Lizama more than made up for his dismal showing on the mound by hitting an RBI single as the Jets scored three in the top of the seventh that broke a 4-4 tie and snapped the Dragons’ three-game winning run.

Lizama drove home Palacios with a single to right field as the Jets took back the driver’s seat. Palacios reached home plate on fielding error then Franco Nakamura singled on the way to scoring the final run via passed ball.

Survivors 8, JPO Enforcers 1

In the battle among unheralded teams, the Survivors prevailed with an easy 8-1 win against JPO Enforcers.

Three Survivors had two runs each, including starting pitcher Caleb Takao, Gayvan Uchau, and Yobech Brel, while Truman Shiro and James Kintaro Jr. added one each.

The win was the Survivors’ second in five outings, while dealing the Enforcers their fourth straight loss after its opening day win over the Falcons.

Jaedryen Deleon Guerrero gave the Enforcers’ their lone run in the top of the sixth inning.
