COMMUNITY BRIEFS May 21, 2009
If you are a year 5-12 student and would like some expert help and advice with your homework or study, take advantage of the Homework Assistance Program being offered by Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, funded through IMLS Competitive Grant.
Students can get help with their homework from the library’s knowledgeable staff to strengthen their skills in academic areas. This program also helps young people to view homework as an opportunity to learn to work independently, complete projects on time, and feel positive about their accomplishments.
The after-school tutors might work with teachers to find out what kids are learning during the day and what homework assignments they have in order to provide tutoring to reinforce what is taught during the school day.
Interested parents and students are encouraged to register as early as possible due to limited seats. For more information, call 235-7322 or 235-7329. (PR) Palms Resort hosts Family Fun Night tomorrow
