The Historical Preservation Office will be conducting a presentation on the cultural resources of Kalabera Cave starting at 6pm tonight, May 27, at the American Memorial Park Visitors Center auditorium.

HPO director Pedro “Roy” Sablan Jr. is inviting the public to this opportunity.

Invited speakers are two individuals who have extensive knowledge of the Kalabera Cave—Genevieve Cabrera and Marilyn Swift.

Cabrera is a former staff historian with HPO while Swift is with the Saipan-based Swift and Harper Archeological Resources Consulting that had done scientific analysis in the area.

This presentation is part of the ongoing HPO Week (May 23-31) in the CNMI with the theme “This Place Matters.”

HPO has planned several activities for the week that include guided tours of archeological and historic sites and a public presentation on the cultural resources of Kalabera Cave.
