Calvary Christian Academy promotes 18 to first grade
Calvary Christian Academy has promoted its 18 Kindergarteners to first grade during a recognition ceremony last week.
The children wowed the crowd in the school’s jam-packed auditorium as they demonstrated their readiness for the next level of their education.
With the guidance of teacher Elizabeth Workman, the kids performed presentations showing what they have learned in class in the following areas: Bible, readiness skills, phonics and reading, and numbers.
In his message, CCA principal Scott Norman commended the decision of parents and guardians in sending their kids to CCA.
He assured them that all 18 kids are already reading at their grade level and can successfully solve mathematical problems.
“We are bound to do our best for your kids…and we’re very serious in this commitment. Rest assured that CCA will continue to give you the best product,” he told the crowd.
Outstanding Kindergarten graduates included Erin Park and Yenee Rhyoo, who were named recipients of the perfect attendance awards; Frederic Guintu and Bhea Mae Epan, Bible awardees; Jaime Navarro, most improved Bible awardee; Frederic Guintu, Phonics; Yenee Rhyoo, most improved phonics; Frederic Guintu, Bhea Mae Epan, reading; Jaime Navarro, most improved reading; Haidee Manibusan, Numbers; Riko Ojima, most improved numbers; Erin Park, Haidee Manibusan, Writing.
The character trait awardees included Erin Park, helpful; Frederic Guintu, dependable; Amy Park, courteous; William Minami, obedient; Jonathan Lee, truthful; Riko Ojima, attentive; Gia Hemley, orderly; Jaime Navarro, gentle; Yenee Rhyoo, well mannered; Jina Lee, respectful; Daniel Kim, kind; Bhea Epan, cheerful; Shaina Lee, diligent; Elliot Lee, thoughtful; and Haidee Manibusan, generous.
