HAGATNA, Guam—The U.S. Small Business Administration Guam Branch Office has announced that the Bank of Guam has been chosen as the “Lender of the Year” and Bank of Guam’s Esther Reyes as the “Banker of the Year.”

This is the fourth year in a row that the Bank of Guam has earned both recognitions, and the second time that Reyes has been awarded.

These honors are granted by SBA each year to the lending institution and bank officer who approve the highest number of SBA-backed loans in a given fiscal year. For fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 2015, Bank of Guam approved 22 loans and lent over $2.39 million.

Lou A. Leon Guerrero, Bank of Guam president, chief executive officer and board chair stated, “The Bank of Guam has worked hard to earn the trust of our small business community, and we salute the SBA for working and supporting our lenders to achieve these goals.  We are particularly thankful for the sales and lending team who supported Esther in underwriting and approving these loans.”

Joining the ceremony were previous “Banker of the Year” winners from Bank of Guam: Janine Eustaquio, Alice Gagarin and Renee Wade. (Bank of Guam)
