The NMC Marianas Reunification Survey Group, composed of students from a Northern Marianas College Current Issues class, is inviting the public to participate in a public opinion survey that will be conducted on the grounds of the Flame Tree Arts Festival on June 9, 10, 11, and 12. Participants need only to take the survey on one of the dates. Survey venues and dates for the residents of Rota and Tinian will be announced soon.

Results from the survey will complement House Bill 17-181, introduced by Rep. Joseph Palacios (R-Saipan), which would push for the inclusion of the question “Should the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and Guam, reunify in pursuit of a new political status?” on the general election ballot.

As mentioned previously, the survey will be non-binding, which means that its results will not affect any prospective law or policy.
