A man allegedly beat up his girlfriend at her barracks in San Antonio on Monday night, allegedly threatening to kill her with a knife for failing to pay back the $200 she borrowed from him.

Jin Hua Liu, 34, was arrested for assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and disturbing the peace.

A $6,500 cash bail was initially imposed for Liu’s temporary release. He was set to be taken to court yesterday afternoon for a bail hearing.

The victim sustained a small cut on the bridge of her nose.

Detective Catherine B. Pangelinan stated in her report that, a patrol officer responded to the Sablan Compound in San Antonio on Monday at 9:32pm after receiving a call about a disturbance.

Pangelinan said when the patrol officer arrived at the barracks, the victim was seen crying.

The victim told police that earlier that night, Liu had punched her in the face and threatened her with a knife after she told him she couldn’t pay yet the $200 she borrowed from him.
