Consulate extends weekend operations
The Philippine Consulate General announced the schedule for its One-Saturday or Sunday-a-Month Service for the second half of 2011.
Consul General Medardo Macaraig said their office has successfully conducted these weekend consular services for the past year and a half as several Filipinos have availed of these services.
According to Macaraig, many Filipinos have difficulty going to the Consulate during weekdays because of their work schedules.
“Filipinos in the CNMI have indicated that they would appreciate the continuation of these services,” he said.
Macaraig said the Consulate will be open on July 30, Aug. 21, Sept. 24, Oct. 23, Nov. 19, and Dec. 18.
He noted that the Saturday schedules will be in July, September, and November, while the Sunday schedules fall on August, October, and December.
During these weekend consular services, the Consulate will observe office hours from 9am to 4pm without lunch break.
