The Northern Marianas College recently welcomed a group of students from Tong Myong University, who volunteered their time to help beautify the campus alongside NMC students.

The group of 33 students and three professors from the South Korean university arrived on Saipan to participate in various beautification projects around the island. Part of their academic curriculum requires the students to perform community service.

At the college, the group cleaned up the campus grounds, including picking up trash around campus, gardening, and painting various fixtures at NMC.

The group from Tong Myong University also cleaned other places on Saipan including the Korean Memorial Park at Marpi and the area along Beach Road from 13th Fisherman’s Memorial to American Memorial Park. In addition to cleaning, the group also visited local senior citizens at the Man’amko Center.

The 36 individuals from Tong Myong University were assisted by the Saipan Mayor’s Office and Hotel Riviera president Jang Seung Jin in planning the community service projects around the island. (NMC)
