4 futsal teams keep unbeaten records

The 2011 Saipan Soccer School Futsal League had its Week 2 games at the TSL Sports Complex with four teams winning over separate foes to remain undefeated in the competition.

In Tuesday’s opening match in the women’s division, Shirley’s B edged Thai Team, 3-2, to improve to a 3-0 record. Thai Team dropped to a 0-2 mark.

Marie Javier and Ira Palero had one goal apiece for Shirley’s B in the first half to give their team a 2-1 lead. Pratoom Stoffer scored Thai Team’s lone goal in the first half and Catherine Perry made one in the second half to equalize. However, Mikky Vargas also lit up the scoreboard for Shirley’s B in the final frame for the team’s third victory in as many games.

Also maintaining a clean record in the women’s division is Shirley’s A (3-0), while men’s division’s Wild Bill’s and IT&E Men are both unbeaten after two games each.

[B]MONDAY
Wild Bill’s 5, Mellow Yellow 3[/B]

In the first match in the men’s division, Wild Bill’s topped Mellow Yellow, 5-3.

Jeeraphong Thoensaket was unstoppable for Wild Bill’s as he drilled four of the team’s five goals, hitting two apiece in the first and second half. Jiayuan Guao logged Wild Bill’s other goal, finding the back of the net in the first half for the squad’s 3-1 lead.

Suriya Mongkhonat put Mellow Yellow in the scoreboard in the first half, while Woo Ho Jin tallied one goal in the second half. Mellow Yellow was credited with an own goal in the second half.
[B] Shirley’s A 9, Mellow Yellow 2[/B]

Mellow Yellow suffered a double blackeye on Monday night, as its women’s team bowed to Shirley’s A, 5-9.

Jeraldine Castillo had a hat-trick for Shirley’s A, while Irish Pagarao and Melody Johnson recorded two goals apiece. Shirley’s A also drew one goal each from Angie Ito and Marilou Gariguez.

Merlie Tolentino scored for Mellow Yellow in the first half, while the team’s other goal came from Melanie Santos in the second half.

[B]IT&E Men 5, Thundercats 4[/B]

In the second men’s game, IT&E defeated Thundercats, 5-4.
Seoung Joon Lee led IT&E’s second win, as he carded three goals. Kirk Schuler and Greg Kim added one goal apiece for IT&E.
Li Zhi Peng and Eric Devin Atalig tallied one goal each for Thundercats in the first half where IT&E led, 4-2. Peng scored anew in the second half and Evert Van Der Maas also hit one goal to tie the game before Schuler made the winning-goal for IT&E.

[B]Red Team 6, IT&E Blossom 1[/B]

In the last women’s game of the night, Red Team recovered big time from its debut loss, clobbering IT&E Blossom, 6-1.
Patty Coleman, who didn’t play in Red Team’s 1-15 loss to Shirley’s in Week 1, had two goals in her first game. Amber Roberts also nailed a pair of goals for Red Team, which got one goal apiece from Temary Gramlich and Jeane Bracken.

[B]TUESDAY
Go Green 3, Docomo 3[/B]

In the only men’s game played last Tuesday night, Go Green and Docomo had a 3-3 draw.

Fradel Sedillo posted twin goals for Go Green, while Panapa Peteru had one. Sedillo and Peteru scored in the first half for a 2-1 lead. Steve McKagan put Docomo in the scoreboard in the first half.

Docomo then added two more goals in the second half, one apiece from McKagan and Ropati Tonuu, while Sedillo logged his second for the deadlock.

The other men’s match between Red Inter and Mellow Yellow was forfeited in favor of the former.

[B]Shirley’s A 6, IT&E Awesome 3[/B]

In women’s division, Shirley’s A grabbed a share of the lead with its sister team, Shirley’s B, after a 6-3 triumph over IT&E Awesome.

Irish Pagarao scored all the goals for Shirley’s A, as she toyed around the defense of IT&E Awesome in the second half.

Neither team scored in the first half and IT&E Awesome fell short on its bid for a second win when it registered only three goals in the final frame. Nola Hix, Natalie Hill, and Carrie Schuler had one goal apiece for IT&E Awesome.
