Wild Bill’s notches fifth win
Wild Bill’s striker Jeeraphong Thoensaket was on target Tuesday night, lifting his team to a 6-5 win over IT&E in the men’s division game in the 2011 Saipan Soccer School Futsal League at the TSL Sports Complex.
Thoensaket scored five goals for Wild Bill’s, which now has a 5-1-0 win-loss-draw record and regains the No. 1 spot in the eight-team field. IT&E dropped its fourth straight game after winning its first two matches.
Thoensaket made twin goals in the first half, while Lar Wongpanya had one, giving Wild Bill’s a 3-1 halftime lead. Aji Thomas scored the lone goal for IT&E in the first half.
After a slow start, IT&E started getting into its rhythm and even grabbed the lead, 5-4, behind the two goals of Seuong Joon Lee and one each from Norman Camacho and Jin Han. However, Thoensaket saved the day for Wild Bill’s, hitting two more to go with his early goal in the second half.
Docomo 5, Thundercats 0
In the first men’s game, Docomo extended its winning run to three after shutting out the Thundercats, 5-0.
Trey Dunn led Docomo’s third win, making two goals, while Ropati Tonuu, Peter Loken, and Tom Linden contributed on each.
With the victory, Docomo retained the No. 3 spot behind Korean Futsal Team (4-1-0) and Wild Bill’s (5-1-0), while the loss kept the Thundercats (0-6-0) at the cellar.
WOMEN’S
Shirleys A 9, Kulet’s Team 2
The first women’s game between Shirley’s A and Kulet’s Team resulted in a lopsided win for the former, 9-2.
Irish Pagarao had a hat-trick for Shirley’s A, while Jeraldine Castillo and Marilou Gariguez logged two each. Angie Ito and Angela Iriarte scored one goal each.
Shirley’s A improved to a 6-0-0 card for the solo lead in the eight-team women’s field.
Castillo knocked in two goals in the first 25 minutes of play, while Pagarao had one for Shirley’s A 3-1 advantage.
Ito, Gariguez, and Iriarte joined the scoring spree in the second half to complete the blowout. Kulet’s scored one goal each in the first and second halves with Vanessa Pritchard nailing both goals.
Red Team 4, Mellow Yellow 2
Red Team won the other women’s game, beating Mellow Yellow, 4-2.
Zoe Jewell canned three of the four goals for Red Team, while Amber Roberts recorded the other one.
Melanie Santos and Rose Lazaro scored for Mellow Yellow in the first half, which ended with Read Team ahead, 3-2.
Mellow Yellow did not find the back of the net in the second half, while Jewell added one more goal for enough cushion.
