Assistant U.S. Attorney James Benedetto filed Wednesday a motion to dismiss without prejudice the criminal case against Maria Nina Dolot Castro.

Dismissal without prejudice refers to dismissal that leaves the plaintiff or prosecution free to try the case again later if circumstances change.

Castro was arrested on charges of mail fraud by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents last month.

In his motion, Benedetto stated that the federal government has determined that there are additional victims that need to be identified before the case is prosecuted and an additional investigation is to be conducted.

Additionally, Benedetto has been informed that Castro will be charged in the Superior Court with associated crimes.
