The Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. board has adopted the organization’s bylaws to comply with the requirements of Medicare, outlining how it will operate the Commonwealth Health Center and maintain its compliance with federal standards.

Acting board chair Pedro Dela Cruz and chief executive officer Juan N. Babauta described the newly approved bylaws as an important requirement in sending reimbursement claims to the federal agency.

Medicare reimbursements to CHC range between $8 million to $10 million every year.

Following the bylaws’ adoption is the submission of reimbursement claims to Medicare, Dela Cruz said.

Babauta earlier told Saipan Tribune that the corporation’s takeover has no impact on the situation with Medicare so long as the hospital complies with all the standards and requirements.
