The regular season of the 2011-2011 Marianas Interscholastic Sports Organization Girls Soccer League continued last Thursday with Marianas High School 1 settling for a scoreless draw against Saipan Southern High School.

It was the first time in five games at the Oleai Sports Complex Field that MHS 1 was held scoreless. The draw stalled the Lady Dolphin’s record to 4-0-1 (win-loss-draw), while Southern fell to a 2-1-2 card.

The league-leading MHS 1 controlled the pace for the majority of the match, but the Lady Rays held strong on defense to foil the Dolphins’ bid for their fifth straight victory.

The season will continue tomorrow with Southern aiming for its third win as it faces MHS 2 at 4:30pm. MHS 2, which is composed of its junior varsity players, has yet to break into the win column after five matches.

Kagman High School is also playing in the league and is ranked third in the field with a 2-2-1 slate.

Meanwhile, the MISO boys basketball league will resume today with Kagman High School (1-2) and Saipan International School (0-3) colliding in the junior varsity game in the first match at 4pm. Then, in the second game, Grace Christian Academy’s varsity squad will take on the Mount Carmel School Knights, who are hoping to break into the win column after dropping their first five assignments.
