Bike ride fundraiser this Sunday
A fun ride to raise funds for those devastated by Typhoon Odette (Rai) in the Philippines will be held this Sunday from Banzai Cliff in Marpi.
Organizer Wilfredo Barbo said the event, dubbed simply as Typhoon Odette’s (Rai) Victims Donation Fun Ride, is non-competitive and is open to all mountain bike and road bike cyclists, even beginners..
The event starts at 6:30am and will encompass the Banzai Cliff, La Fiesta, and back to Banzai Cliff route. Riders who want to do a longer ride can also choose their route, according to Barbo.
Registration for the Typhoon Odette’s (Rai) Victims Donation Fun Ride closes a day before the event on Jan. 15. Barbo said any monetary donation amount is welcome and can be made on the day of the ride itself.
