Brilliant Star, Whispering Palms to host annual yard sale

Brilliant Star Montessori School and Whispering Palms School are teaming up once more for the Annual Yard Sale on Sunday, Nov. 13, from 8am to noon at the Whispering Palms School next to Navy Hill baseball field.

Richard Sikkel, principal of Brilliant Star Montessori, said their school has been organizing the yearly garage sale since 2004 but the two private schools have only worked together in the last two years.

The event will be a good venue to buy used books, toys, electronics, furniture, clothes, shoes, baby gear, and other items for sale, all of which are donated by students and parents from both schools. Pastries and coffee will also be on sale at the event.

Sikkel said the two schools will divide the proceeds, with their school using the funds to update its playground.
