Taitano sentenced in US District Court

Alicia A.G. Limtiaco, U.S. Attorney for the Districts of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, announced yesterday that Joaquin Taitano, 35, from Yigo, Guam, was sentenced on Dec. 6, 2013, in the District Court of Guam, to 30 months imprisonment, three years supervised release, and 100 hours community service for conspiracy to distribute less than 5 grams of methamphetamine.

Taitano was charged in an indictment on April 27, 2013, with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. He pleaded guilty on June 28, 2011.

The investigation was conducted by task force agents from the Superior Court’s probation office assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration. The case was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Clyde Lemons. [I](USAO)[/I]
