Fake Madrid, Astig Futsal win
Fake Madrid and Astig Futsal prevailed in the opening day matches of the Saipan Soccer School’s 2013 U13 Co-ed Christmas Futsal Tournament last Saturday at the TSL Sports Complex.
Fake Madrid played in the first match and routed Foot Loose, 6-1, while Astig Futsal cruised past Kanoa Mighty Orange in the second game, 10-0.
Guinevere Borja led Fake Madrid’s victory, as she completed a hat-trick, while Edwin Kim chipped in two goals, and Sunjoon Tenorio added one. Borja and Kim dropped two goals each in the first half, lifting Fake Madrid to a 4-1 halftime lead. Chad Shankweiler drilled the lone goal for Foot Loose.
Borja completed the hat-trick in the second half, while Tenorio also made it to the board in the final 25 minutes of play. Besides Tenorio, Borja, and Kim, Fake Madrid listed five other players on its roster—Cole Chambers, Cody Leon, Lyka Sally, Logan Mister, and goalkeeper Clayton Izuka.
Joining Chad Shankweiler on the Foot Loose crew are his sister Pinyarat, Bernadette Horey, John Michael Roxas, Dave Tanghal, Christian Castro, Jherico Tiamzon, and James Garcia.
Meanwhile, in the second game, Angel Sally anchored Astig Futsal’s demolition of Kanoa Mighty Oranger after firing three goals. Five other Astig Futsal players scored with Allan Hinson and James Ermitanio contributing two goals apiece, and Krizel Tuazon, Diana Maniacop, and Chevy Kate Alipio gaining one each.
Angel Sally hit all her three goals in the first half, which ended with Astig Futsal way ahead, 9-0. Completing Astig Futsal’s roster are Mia Carreon, Mareko Tekppua, Emmanuel Aniana, and Steve Martin. Kanoa Mighty Orange has Joey and Christine Noble, Theresa Toves, Wayne Lizama, Sebastian Manabat, Ian Maniago, and Erica Santiago.
The four participating teams will play in the double-round robin preliminary with the Top 2 teams after six games advancing to the finals and the bottom two battling meeting in the battle for third place. Games are played every Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
