The Workforce Investment Agency has blessed the life of my family in a way that I thought only the military could. I was released from active duty Army after a close call in Iraq two weeks before my 21st birthday. I was given a second chance at life, and now WIA has given me hope. I knew that I needed to get on my feet quick, and WIA was my stepping stone to get there. I am now currently employed at Office of the Secretary of Finance and have broadened my knowledge of public relations and government operations. I have acquired the experience through the guidance of senior employees here at Finance, learned how to interact as a professional employee, and work with sister agencies. This has been a rollercoaster of thrill and lessons learned.

Yes, I am a veteran, and yes I willingly served our country at 17. With that said, it is one of the most heartfelt feelings in the world to know that our country is giving back to the troops through services such as WIA. The military experience can never be compared to that of any other world, but WIA has been a supreme transitioning tool to get back into the workforce. I am pleased to say that I have met some of the most remarkable and magnificent people through WIA. I learn something new everyday. Thank you WIA from the bottom of my heart for blessing not only myself with employment, but also my Marine veteran husband. We now are able to support our amazing miracle baby boy, and give him a very merry Christmas. A very merry Christmas and happy New Year to the WIA team from my family to yours.

Veterans Priority of Service is provided pursuant to the Jobs for Veterans Act (US PL 107-288) (38 USC 4215) to include the Gold Card Services Initiative for Post 9/11 ERA Veterans.
