Foot Loose barged into the win column in the Saipan Soccer School’s 2013 U13 Co-ed Christmas Futsal Tournament after whipping Kanoa Mighty Orange, 12-2, last Tuesday night at the TSL Sports Complex.

The victory allowed Foot Loose to bounce back from a 1-6 beating at the hands of Fake Madrid during the opening of the tournament last Saturday.

Foot Loose opened a promising 5-1 lead in the first half of the 50-minute game and continued to dominate possession in the second half en route to the easy win. Bernadette Horey made a hat-trick in the first half to set up the lopsided victory, while Carla Ballesteros chipped in two before taking over the team’s goalkeeping chores in the second half.

Completing Foot Loose’s roster are Chad and Pinyarat Shankweiler, Dave Tanghal, Christian Castro, Jherico Tiamzon, and James Garcia.

Foot Loose handed Kanoa its second straight loss, as the latter suffered a 0-10 defeat to Astig Futsal during the tournament’s opening day. Raffy Lee scored the lone goal for Kanoa in the first half of its game against Foot Loose, while Taka Borja made the other one in second half. Also playing for Kanoa are Christine and Joey Noble, Anthony Fruit, Theresa Toves, Wayne Lizama, Ian Maniago, Sebastian Manabat, Jonah Pohl, and Erika Santiago.

Meanwhile, in the other game, Fake Madrid and Astig Futsal had a draw, 3-all.

James Ermitanio dropped two goals for Astig Futsal in the second half and Fake Madrid matched this after getting one goal apiece from Edwin Kim and Guinevere Borja. Diana Maniacop also hit the board to put Astig Futsal in the lead before Sunjoon Tenorio equalized for Fake Madrid.

With the draw, Fake Madrid and Astig Futsal are still tied for first place in the round-robin tournament with their similar 1-1-0 win-draw-loss record. Fake Madrid goes for the lead when it takes on the winless Kanoa Mighty today, while Astig Futsal faces Foot Loose to complete the first round of the tournament.

After two rounds, only the Top 2 teams in the standings will advance to the finals.
