All Guam Guard soldiers arrive on US soil

The final wave of soldiers assigned to the 1-294th Infantry Regiment, Guam Army National Guard have arrived in Camp Shelby, MS, to begin the demobilization process.

The last wave of Task Force Guam soldiers arrived safely in Camp Shelby, MS, yesterday.

The first two waves of soldiers arrived within the last 10 days.

“This is a very good start to this new year!” said Maj. Gen. Benny M. Paulino, Adjutant General of the Guam National Guard. “We are looking forward to welcoming our heroes home.”

The battalion’s close to 600 soldiers deployed to Afghanistan early this year in support of Operation Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan.

Thirty-one airmen from the Guam Air National Guard’s 254th Security Forces Squadron and four soldiers from the Guam Army National Guard’s 1990th Contingency Contracting Team are still deployed during this holiday season in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. [I](PR)[/I]
