Cape Air cancelled for a week now

Cape Air flight cancellations have reached a full week with all flights from last week Friday until today suspended due to a reported ongoing technical issue with their ATR42 aircraft.

In the meantime, United Express has been flying one accommodating flight per day for affected passengers. Some residents have been told by Cape Air to fly this accommodating flight, ahead of their originally booked flights to avoid inconvenience, and some have taken to social media to air their concerns.

The Cape Air/United Express PR office apologized again yesterday in the following statement:

“Cape Air/United Express flights between Guam and Saipan on March 5 and 6, 2015, operating an ATR42 aircraft have been cancelled following the technical issue that is currently being addressed by teams from Cape Air and ATR. United has provided extra flights by using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft to accommodate the affected passengers on both days.

“UA2110 is scheduled to depart Guam on March 5 at 11pm and is expected to arrive on Saipan at 11:36pm. Then, the flight is scheduled to depart Saipan on March 6 at 12:20am and arrive on Rota at 12:54am.  This flight is scheduled to depart Rota at 1:40am and arrive on Guam at 2:11am on March 6. UA2116 is scheduled to depart Guam on March 6 at 11pm and is expected to arrive on Saipan at 11:40pm. Then, the flight is scheduled to depart Saipan at 12:25am on March 7 and arrive on Guam at 1:05am.

“Our support teams in Guam, Saipan, and Rota are providing assistance to passengers to make the necessary arrangements for them to complete their travel. We realize this is an inconvenience to our customers and we apologize for the disruption.”

  1. No offense, Cape Air service totally sucks! They board me via Guam, left me stranded there for a night, without any assistance, then had to pay the other way back, home. Will never fly United, ever!
