CEC: No need for ID in absentee ballot
The Commonwealth Election Commission has clarified that absentee voters do not need to attach a copy of picture identification, or ID, with their absentee ballot. The absentee packet introductory letter that was sent out with absentee ballots states that the absentee voter must submit a copy of picture identification when returning their ballot, but this was an inadvertent and incorrect statement.
The commission will count absentee ballots that are received on time and that include the sealed ballot and the executed affidavit as required under 1 CMC Section 6212 and 6213.
If you have any questions and/or concern regarding absentee ballot process, do not hesitate to contact the Commonwealth Election Commission at (670)235-VOTE (8683). (CEC)

Rob get your act together lai, your commission should be sharper at doing things from last election and past elections. I have been hearing that if your registered to vote for a particular district voters are still getting ballots for another district. Let me elaborate, I live in Guam because I work there. but vote in Saiipan because am from there and am registered there. So why am I getting Rota ballot. Please look into this and be careful read the registration and absentee forms clearly. Thank you.
Thousands of ballots mailed out, only to find there are many mistakes made. How do those folks in the US. vote when there ballots are wrong.
Typical of CNMI (non) functioning Govt. agencies especially in areas where there is a need to be able to read and write AND comprehend. I would also bet the actuall count on all ballot registration is also not correct.I wonder just how many registered are dead along with non residents and duplicate count.
Thank you Captain, spoiled ballots there might be many but mailing out the wrong ones come on now. Am just trying to remind CEC to slow down tread slowly. Current address and mailing address are two distinct creatures. Send parcel to mailing address that’s where one receives mail and in some cases not their current address as people are fluid in today’s world.
