Celis vies for top seed in Power Puff

Celis Nanako is now vying for the No. 1 spot in the Power Puff division after topping the second round of the Marianas Racing Association’s 2021 Point Series Race last Feb. 28 at the Cowtown Raceway Park in Marpi.
Nanako rose to the top after placing first in the second series. Nanako prevailed in the first heat, topping her opponents to earn her 25 points. Nanako later lost her lead and placed second in the second heat to gain 22 points.
Nanako, however, gained a total of 47 points for the second series to bring her overall series standings score to 92 which put her at a tie for top seed with Billie Pangelinan, who also holds an overall score of 92.
Pangelinan, who held the top spot with her 47 points in the first series, lost the lead after placing second in the second series of the race.
Pangelinan lagged behind in the first heat and placed third to earn 20 points. Pangelinan later regained momentum to place first in the second heat gaining 25 points. Pangelinan completed the second series with a score of 45 to bring her overall score to a 92.
Edina Cepeda, who holds the No. 2 spot in the division with her 84 points, placed third in the second series. She took second place in the first heat gaining 22 points, before placing third in the second heat which earned her 20 points.
Rounding up the Top 3 in the Power Puff division is Shaniah Alvarez who holds an overall score of 72. During the second series, Alvarez placed fourth during both heats that gave her 36 more points.
For the Mini 1 division, Devin Yumul is holding on to the pole position after winning first place in both heats of the second round to gain 50 points. Yumul currently holds an overall score of 100.
Following Yumul is Harley Susulin who placed second with an overall score of 86. During the second series. Susulin placed third in the first heat, gaining 20 points then later placed second to gain 22 points.
Completing the Top 3 in the division is Leighton Palacios who holds an overall score of 80.
In the Mini 2 division, Michael Camacho is hanging on to his top seed after starting and finishing the second round as the frontrunner to earn 50 points. Camacho now holds an overall score of 100.
Camacho is followed by Ethan Yumul who holds the No. 2 spot in the division with an overall score of 88. Yumul also placed second in both heats of the second series to earn him 44 points.
Mariana Alvarez completes the Top 3 in the Mini 2 division with her overall score of 80. Alvarez placed third in both heats of the second series to gain her 40 points.
