Chamber to host GAO officers at its meeting

The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a student for Career Exploration Day on Wednesday, Dec. 7. The students and Chamber members will later meet at the Royal Taga Hall of the Saipan World Resort for the monthly general membership meeting. The luncheon begins at 11:30am and the meeting portion begins promptly at noon.

The main speaker will be Emil E. Friberg Jr., assistant director of International Affairs and Trade at the Government Accountability Office.  Members of the GAO staff are currently on island conducting research regarding the minimum wage issue, the Commonwealth’s CW situation, and employee training.

Additional guest speakers are young professionals to inspire and encourage our attending students.  First is G Van Gils, a teacher at Kagman High School and the new Teacher of the Year. Also speaking is the co-chair of the Chamber’s Young Professionals Committee, Zachariah Johnson, a teacher at Hopwood Jr. High School. (Chamber)
