Child seat, seatbelt checkpoints on Rota
The Department of Public Safety, Rota Traffic Section, will be conducting occupant protection/child restraint checkpoints on Friday, May 23, and Saturday, May 24.
On Friday, the first set up is at 7am to 8:15am, along the San Francisco Highway Igua. The second setup is from 10am to 11:15am, along the San Francisco Highway Tatachog by the Mayor’s Office. The third setup is at 4pm to 5:15pm, along the San Francisco Highway Lotgan by Charles Manglona’s property.
On Saturday, the first setup is from 8:30am to 9:45am, along Sinapalo 1 by San Isidro Chapel. The second setup is from 12:30pm to 1:45pm, along Route 100 by the Tan Kindu baseball field. The third setup is from 4pm to 5:15pm, along the San Francisco Highway Sinapalo 3 by Star Marianas.
There will be another occupant protection/child restraint checkpoint the following Friday, May 30, 2014. The first setup is from 7am to 8:15am, along the San Francisco Highway Igua. The second setup is from 10:30am to 11:45am, along the San Francisco Highway Lotgan by Charles Manglona’s property. The third setup is from 3:30pm to 4:45pm, along the San Francisco Highway Tatachog by the Mayor’s Office.
Each checkpoint will last at least 75 minutes. This activity is part of the department’s effort to deter, detect seatbelt and child restraint violations, and to ensure that all passengers are wearing proper restraining devices, seatbelts or car seats.
In addition, traffic and patrol officers will be conducting highway criminal interdictions, saturation patrols, aggressive driver interdictions, and laser (speed detection) enforcement.
